Some Lessons Cannot be Learned in a Day
by Joseph Pittano on March 24th, 2012
The power of Jesus’ sacrifice for sin is amazing. When you think of all the blood sacrifices offered under the first covenant, it’s truly staggering. Just think of the endless flow of blood that proceeded from the altar from the time of Moses (1450 B.C.) to Jesus (A.D. 28)! In all of it, and through all the priests called to offer it, there was no power to really remove sin. Those sacrifices could...  Read More

A Question About Mr. Reinhard Bonnke
by Joseph Pittano on March 17th, 2012
On March 16, Pierre J. asked:“I read your account of your experiences with the WF movement. Have you ever read 'a Different gospel' by DR Mcconnell? I read that years ago and found it very useful indeed. Since 1980, I have opposed the diabolical doctrines of glorifying self. I know Reinhardt Bonke has some type of friendship with people like Benny Hinn, but what in his conduct and preaching do you...  Read More

The Wise Master Builder
by Joseph Pittano on March 10th, 2012
Surely there are things, at times, too great for us to learn, and so God is wise not to reveal them. We may hear them in the word, yes, but it is not always “the time” for us to learn some lessons in life. There were times in my own faith, for example, when I needed God to teach me about the surety of His grace, and so He took me to His eternal predestination like in Romans 8:29-30 and made me to ...  Read More

The Frittering, or Glittering, End
by Joseph Pittano on March 9th, 2012
One of my favorite hymns is called My Jesus, I Love Thee. It was written in 1864 by a young man named William Ralph Featherston who died at the age of 27. He wrote this magnificent hymn when he was only 16 years old. Each stanza ends with the words, “If ever I loved Thee, my Jesus, ‘tis now.” Featherston speaks of singing these joyous words upon all his meditations of God’s love, and in a bright h...  Read More

God Never Made a Dead Religion
by Joseph Pittano on February 29th, 2012
Judaism in Jesus’ day was in bad shape because of many of its leaders. To anyone God can say, “You serpents, you brood of vipers, how will you escape the sentence of hell?” like in Matthew 23:33, chances are that things are not only bad, but as bad as they can be in that person’s faith! The Jewish leaders circa A.D. 30 displayed the most evil and wicked hatred of God that, perhaps, the world has e...  Read More

The Miraculous
by Joseph Pittano on February 27th, 2012
A preacher once remarked how the power present at the new birth, John 3:3, is no less a power as that present at the creation of the worlds. Consider three things, Christian:      1) God merely spoke and in six days (Exodus 20:11) created everything any eye has ever seen. He hung balls of metal and rock like the earth weighing in at near 6.6 sextillion tons on nothing, and created the gravity that...  Read More
