Christian Civics. Part 1. A Talk with Dr. Bill Urban
Today, we’ll begin a new series on Christian civics. Christian civics is the practice of applying biblical principles and Christian ethics to civic participation, government, and community responsibility. It’s not a subject we’ve spent time on previously, but it’s my friendship with Dr. Urban that’s pushed me to want to have these talks. My goal is to contribute to about 10% of the talks and to get out of the way and let him talk. I’ll do an introduction for Bill just after the video opening, but he’s a very impressive man with a lot to share with the church. Christians in America do not have to be afraid to speak on these things. In fact, it’s our duty to. Bill’s expertise in economics and in the other subjects we’ll delve into today is abundant and should become apparent to you over the course of these talks. This is just the first installment of at least three talks we plan to have. We pray that this series will be a blessing to you that will equip you as a believer to understand our current political moment better, and to therefore equip you to follow Jesus closer right where he has you.
