The Sensus Fidelium of Rome (69 min)

Joseph Pittano

What is the “sensus fidelium” or “sensus fidei” in Catholic tradition? Catholics love to toss out Latin terms. One Catholic source says of it that it’s “The supernatural appreciation of faith on the part of the whole people, when, from the bishops to the last of the faithful, they manifest a universal consent in matters of faith and morals.” (Lumen gentium). Is there any truth to this idea for Christians? What should we who prize the Bible above all as God’s voice in the world do with the idea? That’s what this message is all about.

God bless!!!
