James. Part 1. Introduction

Apr 12, 2026    Joseph Pittano

Today, we begin a study of the book of James with an introduction to the letter. We also began this book as a church today so that’s wonderful. I’ve been privileged to be invited to join this class for the next few months to teach through this book. I pray it’s a blessing to them and to you. We had some technical difficulties today that caused us to lose somewhere around the last five to seven minutes, I think. There were some concluding thoughts and a sweet time of thanks in prayer. Next week, Lord-willing, we’ll pick back up around verse three and continue in chapter one. I sincerely hope you’ll join us. If you’re at Idlewild, or in the local area and you’d like to join us, we’re in room E107 starting at 11:00.

At least one error in this talk (which I stated I feared) was that I mixed up the date of Mary's "Perpetual Virginity" with that of the idea of her "Immaculate Conception." These are both ideas I reject. The Immaculate Conception goes back to 1854, but perpetual virginity, a far more honorable error, goes back to 649. I mentioned PV because of its obvious relation to the authorship of James. I apologize for my mix up.

God bless!!!
