How the Times Have Changed Us. A Talk with Pastor Reno Zunz
We all know we’re affected by our culture. Everyone’s affected by the world around them. For better or for worse, American culture as it is today hasn’t come from nowhere. We’re all an amalgamation of our experiences both individually and collectively. We can focus on the good and on the bad. So, what’s made us what we are today if we consider some of the bad? We all know that things change whole people groups. Ideas change people. Experiences change people. Whole cultures shape and are shaped by its songs, books, or stories. Wars change people. Famine and flood turn whole civilizations in different directions. Changes can come quickly or over very long periods of time as well. My goal is to talk about a small handful of things that have made us who we are today as Americans. We do not pretend we’ll cover it all in this talk, or even that we’ll cover what we cover well, but we’ll try to talk about some of the things that have brought our people to where we are today over the lifetime of my guest. We can all learn from someone like Reno who’s walked humbly with the King of kings for nearly half a century. We’ll talk about our world. As we talk today, I also want to ask him for advice for ministers, books he recommends, and other pieces of information I pray will bless us all as we hear from him.
God bless!!!
