False Conversions (29 min)

It saddens me when churches foster environments of praise and celebration when someone, for whatever reason, simply "makes a decision to believe in Jesus." Do we not realize how misleading this can be? Jesus said in Mark 4 that one of the signs of a "false conversion" is joy in a person upon receipt of the word and here we are hard at work to make them happy immediately. These are those who receive the seed on stony ground. We must consider this teaching in light of the modern day "altar call" thing, and consider its implications thereupon. This message is about the not new, but modern phenomena of the false conversion. I was a false convert for most of my life so I know what I'm talking about from experience.
