Roman Catholicism v. History. A Talk with Mr. Matt Ferris

I’m humbled to finally have Mr. Matt Ferris on with us to have today’s talk. Matt’s doing a phenomenal job to research and to illuminate the saints about Roman Catholicism. I sincerely hope that today will not be the last time we have Matt join us. Are you familiar with Roman Catholicism? We want you to be. It’s not another denomination; it’s another religion. It is a false religion today. In our talk today, among a great many other things, Matt and I will talk about how we all share the history of the Christian church and how just because we reject some parts of it, like everybody, that doesn't mean we even remotely have to forfeit it all. If anything, we Protestants actually have more claim to the ancient church than either a Roman Catholic or an Eastern Orthodox claimant does today. We’ll talk about bogus apostolic succession claims, Marian dogmas, John Henry Newman (and the other 37 “Doctors of the Roman Church”), and so much more. These are talks we as the church need to continue to have. And we’ll do it in the kind of love and humility required of us in Christ. We also get to talk about so many parts of the true Gospel of Jesus Christ. We hope you’re blessed, challenged, and educated.

In our talk today, I cite from the, “Apostolic Constitution of Pope Pius XII” or Munificentissimus Deus from November 1st of 1950. You can find that here: http://www.vatican.va/content/pius-xii/en/apost_constitutions/documents/hf_p-xii_apc_19501101_munificentissimus-deus.html.
