Joseph Smith. Disqualified by Polygamy

1 Timothy 3:2 makes it clear that to be qualified for the pastorate, or even for a deaconate, if a man is in fact married, he must be a, “One woman man” or be monogamous. He must be the husband of just one wife. Polygamy and adultery are both disqualifying things for men in ministry roles. This means that Joseph Smith with his many wives could not even serve tables (Acts 6:2) in a New Testament church, let alone be who he claimed to be in the church. Now, any Christian even vaguely familiar with LDS theology knows that it’s just about as far away from Christianity as one can get on nearly every point that matters, but this is another good talking point that I don’t hear discussed often.
