Psalm 105. Covenant, History, Praise
The church has been going through a Psalms study for some time now. Today, I address our middle and high schoolers out of Psalm 105. Verses 1-15 are also found in 1 Chronicles 16:8-22 almost certainly making David the author of the whole of this Psalm. As in many places in God’s word, the writer asks the faithful reader to remember. “Remember His wonders which He has done, His marvels and the judgments uttered by His mouth.” Vs. 5. This is my aim today! As a New Testament worshiper of the God of David, I also want to reflect today on the works of Christ on the Cross, the greatest of God’s wonders worked and that work I most want to be known among all the nations. The writer recounts some of God’s works in his covenant with Abraham, the Exodus, the story of Joseph, the wilderness wandering and the conquest. God takes his covenant promises very seriously. It is my great privilege to remember these few of his works today. I hope it’s a blessing to you to consider the history of the Christian Religion with me today, God’s covenant promises, and the riches we have in Christ Jesus.
God bless!!!
