Philippians 2:1-11

What a glorious calling it is to live out the truths of the word of God in this our generation! What a Gospel! What an example we have in Christ! This message was addressed to a group of men, but is of course just as applicable to any woman in Christ who’ll watch or listen as well. This first part of Philippians 2 is a very practical exhortation to work out one’s salvation. To never fear suffering. Paul’s mention of Christ’s own self-emptying is held up as the principle example of what it means to serve. In our time today, we’ll consider Jesus’ Deity, our frailty, and our call here in the text to follow him to glory.
