John 1:1-9. This Word the Creator, the Light, John the Witness, and The Source of Life (35 min)

Today we'll begin a series of messages through The Gospel of John. This series was part of a larger exposition of the Gospel of John. Today's passage is the first nine verses of what's known as John's prologue in chapter one. The message of Jesus Christ has very little meaning for the world until we understand who Jesus is. John wants us to know that Jesus' claims on our lives are based on the fact that he himself is the eternal God, the Creator of all things. Everything we read about from John after this (all things written under divine inspiration in order that men would believe (see John 20:31)) should be read in light of what's being said here in these first few verses.
