James. Part 20. James 5:13-18

James here will emphasize the church’s dire need for prayer in all we do. In every one of the six verses we’ll consider together today prayer is mentioned in every one of them. This is a most fitting end to the epistle for James, as it would fit well on every letter, to remind his readers of the need for prayer. I don’t think this passage prescribes a “healing service” style prescription. I think James speaks of that healing oil we will need in life, and that we are to be to each other as members of the body. It can be anointing for healing, but it’s much more than this.
