Isaiah 40. The Creator and His Creation

With all of the revelation given to us in the Bible that we’re to draw near to God as a Father, it’s good for us to be reminded from time to time of all the other revelation given to us that God is far more than just a Father. He is the exalted and eternal God. The Creator. He is not “a homeboy.” He is dangerous. He is holy. These passages in Isaiah 40 have been monumental in my own understanding of the Gospel since I was first redeemed. Christ died and rose again as a man to make the triune God approachable, both now in a mitigated sense, and also fully so in the life to come. God was not approachable otherwise. SIN had to be dealt with.
