A Hope Beyond the Grave
“…if Christ has not been raised, your faith is worthless; you are still in your sins. Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. If we have hoped in Christ in this life only, we are of all men most to be pitied.” 1 Corinthians 15:17-19.
A hope that does not go beyond the grave is no hope at all. Because Christ has already risen. Because Christ is now glorified and seated at the right hand of the Father. Because he lives, we have a hope that lives. The hope of the Christian is a truth as unshakable as any other certain event in history. It’s as fixed as yesterday. And so, for those who believe, it makes tomorrow just as certain. “For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes in Him will not be disappointed.” Romans 10:11.
