Eastern Orthodoxy

Aug 18, 2024    Joseph Pittano

I want to talk more on Eastern Orthodoxy or the Eastern Orthodox Church (EOC) in years to come. Finding someone to talk with from that group has not been easy, but I’m looking forward to doing so. Most of us in America know far more about Roman Catholicism or the Roman Catholic Church (RCC), but we just don’t know all that much about the EOC. Where did they come from? Do they accept Protestants as brothers and sisters in Christ today? Should we accept them as brothers and sisters in Christ? These are necessary questions. What beliefs, if any, separate us as say Baptists from the EOC? In today’s talk, I want to talk a bit about the origins of the EOC, some of its foundational beliefs, and address the issue of dogmatic development that maybe separate us as Protestants from those in the EOC. I hope it’s somewhat informative. I’m aware that my audience here is mostly fellow Protestants, and as I say numerous times here, I hope that this video is the beginning of a lot of future dialogue. If you’re watching this as a member of the EOC and you’d be willing to talk with me on your faith, or maybe you know someone who might be willing to, please put me in touch with them.

God bless!!!
