Yes. By Faith Alone. A Response to Bishop Robert Barron
Oh, the glorious wonders and complexity of the Christian Faith! It’s as the Stead hymn goes:
’Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to take Him at His word;
Just to rest upon His promise;
Just to know, thus saith the Lord.
Today, we’ll pick apart some of the position of Bishop Robert Barron by responding to a video posted on his YouTube Channel on Sep 9, 2023 called “Are We Saved by Faith Alone?” You can find that video here. Roman Catholics, sadly, have a very different gospel than the one proclaimed by Christ and the Apostles. They have a different Gospel than the one proclaimed still by Christians today. It’s revealed in part here in Barron’s talk about justification according to some late Reformation era ideas like the Council of Trent. Let’s consider it together today. Our purposes in such are always two-fold: 1) Evangelism to the lost, and 2) the edification of the found. SDG!
In the talk today I mention this other recent video by me called, “No One Goes to Heaven Without Works.” Wanna dig even deeper with me? Listen to: “Grace and Works. Why Protestantism Is Right.” In many ways I consider it one of the most important messages I’ve ever recorded. Lastly, in today’s video I mention Dr. James R. White’s book, “The God Who Justifies. The Doctrine of Justification,” a book I’d like to recommend to you for a comprehensive look at the Doctrine of Justification from a Protestant perspective.
God bless!!!
