Dogmatics Change Everything

Whenever a dogma is added to a group, either formally or informally via some ecclesiastical device be it a group or just a person’s position, everything changes. “Thus says the Lord” has been attached in some way. Given this reality, it’s my contention here that the current Roman Catholic Church only came into existence in November of 1950. I know, it’s an absurd idea! I know. I’m aware that people have called themselves Roman Catholics long before this date. But hear me out if you will. I will seek to make the case for this claim. If the fourth Marian dogma came into power at that time, it has become a new requirement of the Catholic Faith. Some may rightly point out that the view is older than its dogmatization. I get that. But dogmatics change everything. I hope you’ll let me try to make the case.
