Try to imagine what it’d be like if the world obeyed God on this matter. I know it’s impossible, but just try for a moment. What would life be like? Christians will see what this looks like in a redeemed world. But that world is not yet. Jesus is not finished with his work. Jesus (God) gave mankind many commandments. Loving God and then also loving our neighbors as ourselves is a summary of it all. They are the two chief commandments he gave. Obedience to them, in all the ways we’re commanded, proves our faith.
