We’re around AD 53 now in our study. Paul will end his third missionary journey here in this chapter by returning to Israel. We’ll see more affectionate treatment for him from many other believers along the way. It will not go well with him in Israel, as he was clearly and repeatedly told would be the case. He went to Jerusalem nevertheless fully aware that he was being obedient to his apostolic calling. We’ll also get to interact with some interesting guidance from the Apostle James for Paul regarding Jewish ceremony as he returns, and we’ll leave off the chapter with Paul being severely beaten by a mob.
