1 John Study. Part 10. 1 John 4:1-6 (54 min)

Title: 1 John Study. Part 10. 1 John 4:1-6 (54 min)
Message Description:

In today’s passage, John is going to show us just how true it is that doctrine divides. Not always, but it does very often divide. It always did! It must! Have we never read Luke 12:49-53? Jesus says there:

“I have come to cast fire upon the earth; and how I wish it were already kindled! But I have a baptism to undergo, and how distressed I am until it is accomplished! Do you suppose that I came to grant peace on earth? I tell you, no, but rather division; for from now on five members in one household will be divided, three against two and two against three. They will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law.” (NASB).

When truth unites us in Christ we have the Faith. When it doesn’t, we have something else. Christians should not be about fake unities. Unity in the Spirit does not necessitate lockstep agreement on everything. Not even the Apostles demonstrated that in many ways. But it does require agreement on a few beautiful core things. God and Gospel. Today’s passage will speak about the necessity of the humanity of Jesus, and that in his humanity, he’s still God. John will teach us a truth whereby to test religions. To test the spirits. We’ll see how the Faith sets the believer apart from the world in truth. I pray you come to see this more today by looking at John’s inspired words.

Due to the Corona Virus, we’re again doing today’s Bible study online. This is the second week of this. Who knows how long it’ll continue. The video livestreams should all be posted on Biblecia.com (Facebook) if you’d like to look them up. Today is 25 Mar 20.
